Namakula is a single mother who was living with her aunt in kaabong township and surviving with support from Child Care Africa CCA, a local organization that rehabilitates singles teenage mothers and give them social support and welfare within the region of karamoja. she was recruited together with her 2 friends to take part in an on location BISS Bakery training. they started the bakery in April 2022. together they run the bakery with her friends until they decided to abandon the bakery to pursue other ventures. she remained alone and given that where she was located was quiet a distance away from the town center, her production was low and hence due to working alone and also mobility was quite a challenge for her to get to the market. Then BISS came up with the refresher course that allowed her to gain insight in the advantage of a good location with regards to improving a business. after the training, she tasked herself in a location change program and then BISS bakeries helped to renovate the building and give it the BISS branding. All the work lasted about a week and the bakery started the next week. all baking started in high gear with a drastic increase in the production capacity, quality and even man power. The location has made the Bakery a house hold name in town with its location being in the town center and people can easily locate the place even without being directed. she can now sell about 6kgs on location with about a whole carton a day in production capacity.
Thanks to BISS Bakeries for helping her to improve on her livelihood and giving her a platform to become a business owner and having a status in the society.
