The mother of BISS. Bake for Life Holland was initiated in 1999. Their first projects were Bake for Life Uganda and the Bake for Life College in Tororo. Since 2014 BISS Bakeries Uganda was initiated as her third project. Up till date Bake for Life is the major fund raiser for BISS Bakeries Uganda.

The mission of CCA is to help the most vulnerable children in Africa. Together with CCA, BISS starts bakeries in Karamoja, the most underdeveloped region of Uganda. So far, we have opened in Kaabong and Amudat with more to come.

BBrood is our sister organization. We share the same founder, Renee Pater. Bbrood operates in Netherlands, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. BBrood Netherlands sponsors annually and continuously by selling ‘banana bread’ of which the profit goes to BISS. The customers of Bbrood Uganda sponsor through donation boxes that are placed in shops.

Wilde Ganzen supports change makers that fight poverty and equality in different parts of the world. Together with Bake for Life, Wilde Ganzen helped BISS to start 6 bakeries for mothers with a child with disability. Project is running till end of 2023, though of course the bakeries keep existing afterwards.

Since 2021, Stichting Onesimus has greatly supported the BISS Bakeries programs by directly contributing around 30% of the annual budget. We’re very grateful for their support.

EFMI Business School is a university in the Netherlands offering courses to directors and managers in the food industry. During one of their visits in Uganda as part of a study outing, 30 students and the director visited BISS and other Bake for Life projects alongside commercial food businesses in Uganda. As a group they raised money to help BISS start a new bakery.

The Wiltink Bakery has been sponsoring the Bake for Life programs since day 1 (1999). They’re a great supporter of the BISS program. They sponsored the BISS Briquette project, the BISS Test Bakery and the first BISS Shop at our office alongside annual contributions to Bake for Life.

The BISS offices are located at KCH from the year 2013. Reason: we help the same people! Katalemwa is a rehabilitation center for children with a disability. They also build wheelchairs, protease, special shoes and more. With BISS helping mainly parents of children with disabilities, we have a natural connection. During training of the parents, KCH offers daycare and rehabilitation to the children.

In Jinja region, SPE takes care of children in several ways. They sponsor school fees and offer rehabilitation for those with disabilities. Through SPE several parents of children with (severe) disabilities have joined the program.

Light for the World BISS Bakeries Uganda is an official partner in the We Can Work Program that is being implemented by Light for the World. The program helps youth with disabilities to get job opportunities. Those interested in Baking, follow the BISS Baking & Entrepreneurship Course. We hope to create opportunities for many youths during the implementation period of 2024-2030.

Neerlandia Foundation Neerlandia has been giving BISS great financial and technical support. They have been helping BISS to start bakeries in Karamoja region together with Child Care Africa. For 2025, Neerlandia is sponsoring the opening of a Working & Learning Center in Karamoja. We are happy to find in Neerlandia a party we can grow together with.
